I know this is a touchy subject and I am not saying that anyone should have died but what I hate is the medias role in the whole thing is wrong! When you do not have all of the facts or even during editing any information for sensationalism the media goes too far! The only two people that know exactly what happened are Zimmerman and Martin and unfortunately the young man is gone and the other is not really speaking. Should he be arrested? Probably when you have anyone killed this should be done unless you have video and audio of what happened where it shows exactly what happened and that the person shot was at fault! The reason I say both video and audio is because pictures do not tell the whole story and neither does just audio. The media loves to get people riled up about whatever they can to get the ratings they need to stay in business but look at some of the problems of doing so! Not only do they not show clear enough video (and we know survellience cameras are not the greatest) but they edit things to make it look extremely racist in this case but they edit to make it more sensational all the time! Look at what happened to the couple whose address was tweeted by Spike Lee? Did they deserve any of this? NO! I don’t believe that Spike Lee should have tweeted any address of anyone involved with this case much less a HUGE mistake like this, not even related to. If he would have tweeted the address of the actual parents of Zimmerman I would still say he was in the wrong just as I believe the media is in the wrong with what they are doing!
Why is this case so different then all the other innocent victims that are shot everyday when doing nothing wrong other then walking down their own street or playing in their own yard? The day this happened I know there were many shootings in alot of places but I did read a small little snippet about a 6yr old that was shot while playing in their own yard and killed by a shooting I believe in Chicage(may be another large city) and there are no people protesting this childs death! That is just one example for just that day! I believe that the 6yr old died because of a drive by which possibly gang related (the shooters NOT the child or family) and so that is not big news to anyone, anymore!
I will reserve my opinion about any shooting until I know more of the facts and unfortunately I will never really know them since all I have to go on is the media because I do not live in that area and cannot go to the hearings when and if that happens and still we will not know because of all the posturing of attorneys. Any court proceedings are only as informative as the attorneys involved because you can twist anything to look any way you want but is who believes you or not!
I do not believe that Martin should have died but I also do not know all the facts and neither does the media! I do believe Zimmerman should have been arrested for a miinimum charge of some kind left open for other charges as seen fit my law enforcement after all the facts are in.
The media is not actually reporting actual facts anymore, they just report in a way to get ratings and obviously they have found a goldmine of ratings in this instance and that is sad all the way around!
There is one thing that does bother me alot with this particular story, and that is the mother of Martin who filed for the rights to “I am Trayvon” and/or “Justice for Trayvon”. I am looking at this from a mothers point of view in the fact is I would not even be able to think straight in so short of time after losing one of my son’s. To me that is really strange after this kind of loss and really quick! My opinion, but it feels wrong!
